Reflection 4

just recently I finished building my computer, But I hadn't powered it up yet. So when I did power it up, everything was working just fine. Until I realized the two IDE connectors (IDE is just a ribbon cable that plugs into your drives) were not showing up on the BIOS setup. (The BIOS setup is the setup you go though when you don't have your operating system installed yet.) My mom and I figured out the problem was that the jumpper (which is a little plug in that tells your computer it's the master drive) was on the optical drive. (which is the dvd, cd, blu ray reader/writer) So we had to take the side off the computer and take the jumpper off. When we repowered up, the two drives showed up on the BIOS setup. So then we were ready to install the operating system. We have Vista so we tried installing it. We couldn't instal it because it was the upgrade version so we had to have Windows XP all ready installed to install windows vista. So my mom and I installed Windows XP succesfully, but the internet wasn't working. So we had to install the drivers, which are like progams that have to be installed that are allready on the motherboard but just are not running yet. Then we installed vista succesfully. We had to reinstall the drivers though. Then everything was running great. But I had to download and install 70 updates and counting. The powering up of the computer was succesful.
